Hawk baseball sweeps Roardrunners

The Woodward-Granger boys had their season end Monday with a loss to Interstate-35.

TRURO — Woodward-Granger recorded WCAC baseball wins of 6-5 and of 9-4 Thursday at Interstate-35.

Worth Henry tossed five frames in the opener, allowing five runs (three earned) on two hits. He walked seven batters and hit two with pitches but also had three strikeouts.

Collin Nardini yielded two hits while striking out two in a pair of frames on the rubber.

Christian Husmann had two singles, two runs and a RBI and Brody Nardini a double, a run and three RBIs for W-G. Henry, Collin Nardini, and Don David each had hits, with Nardini driving in a run and David scoring. Kaden Seeman and Nick Rees also scored for the Hawks, who drew eight walks.

W-G (3-3-1, 2-1-1) received three innings on the bump from both Husmann and Brody Nardini. The former allowed a run and two walks and the latter three runs on two walks and seven hits while fanning one. Collin Nardini pitched one stanza, allowing two hits and whiffing two.

Colby Tague sparked the attack with a double, two singles, a RBI and a run. David had a single and two RBIs and Collin Nardini a double.
