WOODWARD — The boys cagers wearing Woodward-Granger’s varsity uniforms have started their current season with a 6-3 overall mark, a record that is 4-3 in WCAC play.
Considering the team topped out a nine wins last season, it would be hard to fault the Hawks for feeling good about where they currently stand.
W-G yields 60 points per game but scores at an average clip of 64.7 ppg while shooting 43.1 percent from the floor. The Hawks have hit 64.1 percent of their free throws and 34 percent of their 3-point attempts.
Sophomore forward Keith Braunschweig leads the way with 15.7 ppg and 41 rebounds while sophomore point guard Bryce Achenbach has done a little of everything. He averages 11.3 ppg, has 58 rebounds and 60 assists and made 29 steals.
Noah Hoyt averages 10.7 ppg and has 39 boards, with Reese Jamison (7 ppg, 41 rebounds), Kaya Bowlsby (6.6 ppg, 18 steals) and J.P. Nixon (6.2 ppg, 40 rebounds) also key contributors.
W-G is at Earlham Tuesday before hosting AC/GC Friday.
