Hawk boys golfers play in Tiger Invite Saturday

The Woodward-Granger boys had their season end Monday with a loss to Interstate-35.

AMES — Woodward-Granger was one of seven boys golf teams playing 18 holes at the Ames Country Club Saturday in the Gilbert Invitational.

Nevada fired a team-low 300 to win the event, with Gilbert shooting a 330 and DC-G a 348. Ballard had a 354, Boone a 357 and Bondurant-Farrar with a 387 while W-G carded a combined 411.

Coby Peters provided a team-low 46-42–88 for W-G, with Trey Lettow shooting a 43-53–96. Colby Tague’s 53-55–108 and Alex Foster a 56-63–119 completed the scoring for W-G, with Brandon Worley (57-68–125) and Nate Rowen (55-73–128) also playing for the Hawks.

Dylan Sporrer (36-37–73), Caden Jones (39-35–74), Tyler Sansgaard (38-38–76) and Harold Dobernecker (36-41–77) scored for Nevada to fuel the team victory, with Bryce Malcow (39-40–79), Spencer Clatt (44-37–81), Jack Cannon (45-38–83) and Ben Simodynes (44-43–87) the four lowest cards for Gilbert.

DC-G received scoring cards from Derek Shanno (37-42–79), Daren Werth (41-47–88), Jacob Isenminger (46-44–90) and Keegan Bianchi (44-47–91), while Alex Bangs (42-43–85), Tomas Locker (48-40–88), Kaden Miller (44-45–89) and Spencer Catus (45-45–90) were the low foursome for Ballard.

Dylan Bangs (39-39–78), Christian Bushore (46-46–92), Jake Lewis (48-45–93) and Layden Losh (46-48–94) provided the four scoring cards turned in by Boone, with Bondurant-Farrar’s score generated by Mason Storey (41-49–90), Tyler Harms (44-48–92), Connyr Duden (50-51–101) and Braden Miller (49-55–104).
