Hawk boys pull away from Trojans

WOODWARD — A 15-10 edge over the final quarter carried Woodward-Granger to a 59-54 win over Pleasantville in WCAC boys cage play Friday.

W-G (7-2, 6-1) trailed, 17-13, after one quarter but held a 30-29 edge at the break. Pleasantville (3-6, 2-5) tied to game at 44-all entering the last period but could not fend off the hosts.

Reese Jamison and Keith Braunschweig had 17 points apiece for W-G, with Bryce Achenbach adding nine points, Noah Hoyt six and Nick Buch and Kaya Bowlsby five apiece.

Braunschweig and Achenbach had six rebounds apiece, with Bowlsby grabbing five caroms while Hoyt made four assists.

Mitch Harken had 12 points and Tajen Douma and Teron Mount 11 each for the guests.
