WOODWARD — Points were aplenty in Monday’s non-conference tilt, with Woodward-Granger prevailing over Greene County, 80-70.
W-G (6-1) scored no fewer than 18 points in any quarter and entered the intermission holding a 37-33 advantage.
A 23-16 scoring edge in the third frame gave the hosts some breathing room with the Hawks entering the fourth quarter with a 60-49 lead.
Four Hawks scored in double-digits, led by Keith Braunschweig’s 24-point outburst. Bryce Achenbach had 15 points, with Kaya Bowlsby and Noah Hoyt scoring 14 points apiece. Eight points from Reese Jamison and five from Alex Bice concluded the scoring list for the home team.
Braunschweig had 10 rebounds and four assists, Achenbach six rebounds, Jamison five assists and Hoyt three steals.
W-G sank 4-of-10 3-point attempts, made 20-of-26 free throws and pulled down 31 total rebounds in the win.
