
WOODWARD — Class 2A No. 9 Woodward-Granger made quick duty of a visit from AC/GC Tuesday with a 3-0 sweep in their West Central Conference volleyball tilt.
W-G improved to 19-6 overall and 5-0 in conference play with victories of 25-14, 25-13 and 25-11. The loss sends AC/GC — the newly combined Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center — to 8-10 overall and 2-4 in WCC action. The Hawks will be in action twice next week when they seek to remain unbeaten in WCC play with a Tuesday visit to Panorama followed by an appearance in the Oct. 6 Jayette Invitational in Perry.
Mary Hansen and 13 kills and Olivia McCune 11 to pace W-G in Tuesday’s win, with Ashley Gales adding five kills, Bree Lesch and Julie Pitman four apiece and Alyssa Bice three. Pitman finished with three blocks and Gales two, with Bice and McCune also tallying rejections.
Bice had 18 assists and Hansen 17, with Kara Bodensteiner and Lesch providing one assist each. Lesch had a team-high 13 digs, with Bodensteiner making five, Bice four, McCune three, Gales and Hansen two apiece and Pitman and Kaycee Major one apiece.
Lesch served 17-of-18 with five aces, with Riley Kirton 10-11-1 and McCune 9-9-2. Bice and Bodensteiner were each 11-of-12 behind the line, with Hansen 7-of-7.
