PANORA — The Panorama boys are scoring a ninth-best 67.5 points in Class 2A basketball, an output that has helped the Panthers to a 5-1 start overall and a 4-1 beginning to their WCAC season.

Those points have been necessary, as head coach Nic Peasley’s squad is averaging a margin of victory of only four points per game.

Panorama is shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and 66.2 percent (90-of-136) at the free throw line. They have connected on 61-of-146 (41.8 percent) on 3-pointers, third-best in 2A.

Malachi Peasley averages 17.7 points per game, has hit 18-of-44 (40.9 percent) 3-pointers and 73.8 percent at the line while distributing 27 assists.

Zach Rizzuti (16 points, six rebounds per game) has splashed 17-of-36 (43.2 percent) beyond the arc and 84 percent at the stripe, with Kolby Shackelford averaging 11.7 ppg, has hit 14-of-37 (37.8 percent) on treys and 77.8 percent at the line.

Michael Allen (5.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg) is shooting 69.6 percent from the floor, with Dominic Walker scoring at a 5.3 points per contest clip. Evan Taylor (3.5), Jared Wasson (3.0), Drew Taylor (2.8) and Lucas Leiferman (2.2) have also made key contributions.

Panorama visits Ogden Friday and West Central Valley Jan. 10. Between those dates the Panthers play a pair of boys-only junior varsity/varsity sets, the first a Saturday matinee against Mt. Ayr, with a visit to Woodward Academy slated for Jan. 7.
