The Perry Kiwanis Club got a lesson in precision agriculture at their weekly meeting Tuesday at the Hotel Pattee when Sean Schroeder, agronomist with Tri-County Ag near Perry, discussed the use of farm drones.
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones, look like flying toys but are rapidly emerging as powerful agricultural tools, with uses ranging from soil testing to crop scouting to other applications, according to Schroeder.
Tri-County Ag’s farm-services salesman was hosted by Perry Kiwanian Tom Vincent, a member since 1991.
