
A homeless man was arrested Wednesday night after acting too familiarly with an officer of the Clive Police Department.
Corey Ryan Casady, 35, of no fixed abode was charged with assault on persons in certain occupations.
The incident began about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 15900 block of Hickman Road in Clive, where Casady approached an officer of the Clive Police Department in a patrol vehicle and “knocked on the passenger window,” according to court records.
When the officer rolled down the window, Casady “decided to open the door without permission, enter” the patrol vehicle “with his hands in his pocket and demand, ‘Aren’t you going to help me?'” according to court records.
The officer “ordered” Casady out of the vehicle “at gun point,” according to court records. “I thought you were gonna help,” Casady told the officer.
Casady was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond.
Casady was convicted of assault on persons in certain occupations in 2006 in Hardin County District Court. He was convicted of assault in 2010 in Story County District Court. He was convicted of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness in August 2021 in Story County District Court. He was convicted of assault in October 2021 in Franklin County District Court. He was convicted of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness in December 2021 in Story County District Court.
