As one looks back through the Perry High School yearbooks, it is easy to see the differences between how students, their hairstyles and clothes, and the school itself have changed over the years.
Grainy black-and-white photos from old yearbooks do not explain, however, or help us to understand how education in Perry has itself changed through time.
For that, you need to join a panel of Perry educators for a discussion on Thursday, May 4 at 6 p.m. at the Carnegie Library Museum.
The panelists will include:
- Dr. Ryan Marzen, principal of the Perry Elementary School
- Trista Cohea, Perry High School teacher
- Pat Mundy, retired Perry teacher with many decades’ classroom experience
- Becky Reuter, longtime teacher at the Perry Elementary School and recent retiree.
“They will share their experience and expertise as school personnel who have lived through it all,” according to the Perry Public Library.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Carnegie Library Museum at 515-465-7713 or visit www.perry.lib.ia.us.
