A large and enthusiastic crowd lined Willis Avenue in Perry Sunday morning for the July Fourth Independence Day parade, kicking off a day of patriotic celebrations.
Entries of all kinds — from flatbed trailers to tractors, walking groups, political candidates and parties, civic organizations and local businesses — lined up at the East Perry Plaza and began their progress at 11:30 a.m. westward down Willis Avenue before turning southward on W. Fifth Street and skirting the edge of Pattee Park.
Activities continue all day in Pattee Park and will end with a fireworks display about 9:30 p.m.
