The Iowa Cubs' mascot Cubbie Bear was on hand for Saturday's Little League Takeover at Pattee Park for Perry's youth baseball players.

Saturday’s warm morning rain could not stop the action Saturday when the umpire yelled, “Play ball!” and Bank of America, corporate sponsor of the Iowa Cubs, hosted a Little League Takeover at the baseball diamonds in Pattee Park.

Perry’s young players enjoyed a big-league experience with I-Cubs jerseys, personalized introductions and in-game promotions, which together replicated the full Cubs gameday atmosphere.

Bank of America supports youth through the Little League Takeover program in partnership with the Iowa Cubs, choosing a Little League team in Iowa to receive a unique and memorable experience.

“The Perry Little League was chosen this summer to enjoy this exciting opportunity, fostering community spirit and offering the young athletes a taste of the big leagues.” said a Bank of America spokesperson.

The games lasted from 10 a.m. until noon and involved Iowa Cubs staff and players, including Cubbie Bear, Perry Little League volunteers and players and Bank of America representatives.
