Jacqueline Ellen Umland, 66, was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on Dec. 21, 1955, the daughter of Billy Lee and Maureen Hansen, and she died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Jackie married David Benjamin Umland on Dec. 15, 1979, in Adel.
They lived in Dallas Center for 27 years before moving to Perry.
The couple enjoyed going for car rides together.
Jackie was a great cook. She loved gardening flowers, crocheting, and knitting.
Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her pets.
Left to cherish Jackie’s memory is her husband, David, of Perry; son, Luke Hubbard of Ankeny; daughter, Jessica Grant of Boone; sisters, Jennifer Grogan of Marshalltown and Hildie Stokely of Perry; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and brothers, Mike Hansen and John Hansen.
A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held in the spring of 2022, with details to be announced at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Every Step Hospice in Jackie’s name. Memorials or condolences to the family may be left or mailed to Murdock Funeral Home in Perry.
