A visitation and memorial mass for Jairo Gustavo Vargas, 47, of Occoquan, Virginia, will held at St. Patrick Church on Monday, Aug. 12 at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. All are invited to attend this celebration of life.
Jairo was born June 3, 1977, at Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia. He passed away on June 3, 2024 at Inova Fairfax hospital.
Jairo began his own family with Karen J. Summerson-Vargas. They were married on April 30, 2022, at Nativity Catholic Church in Burke, Virginia. The couple held a mass of celebration on May 30, 2022, at St. Patrick Church in Perry, Iowa.
Jairo and Karen welcomed their child, Inez Isabel, on Oct. 6, 2023, in Alexandria, Virginia.
A kind, gentle man with strong faith and a pure heart, Jairo will be kept alive in our memories and through his daughter. Jairo quietly battled late-stage pancreatic cancer for nine months before passing away on his birthday at the age of 47.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Inez Vargas’s education fund.
