
North Polk began their journey as a member of the Raccoon River Conference with a 3-0 sweep over host Perry in volleyball action Tuesday. The Comets, and Gilbert, will now be competing in all RRC activities.
The visitors won the match with wins of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-16. Perry will return to action Tuesday with a trip to Boone, with Carlisle visiting Perry Sept. 8.
Kacy Nevitt had three kills, three blocks and a dig for Perry, with Lanie Fish adding two kills, four digs and an assist while Ashley Cerna accounted for two kills, 11 digs and an assist.
Quinn Whiton provided eight assists and eight digs to go with one block, the Peyton Tunink having five digs and kill. Maci Tunink had a kill and a dig and Jayna Kenney a kill, with Jenisis Cerna making seven digs while Addison Huntington came up with eight digs.
Nevitt served 8-of-9 with four aces and Peyton Tunink 6-of-6 with one ace. Jenisis Cerna was 9-of-9 behind the line, with Ashley Cerna and Fish both 6-of-6 while Whiton converted 3-of-5.
