BONDURANT — A put-back goal off a deflected shot with five seconds left lifted Bondurant-Farrar to a 2-1 win over visiting Perry in a Raccoon River Conference girls soccer stunner Tuesday.
Natalie Martinez scored an unassisted goal just five minutes into the game to give Perry (2-1 overall, 1-1 in RRC play) a 1-0 lead. The Lady Jays (3-2, 3-0) scored a few minutes later to knot the score, where it remained until the final ticks.
Jayette goalie Selena Garcia slid out of the goal to make her 13th save of the game with just under 10 seconds left in regulation, but the ball skipped off her mitts, and an unchecked attacker tapped the ball into the nylon to ignite a huge celebration from the hosts. B-F has run off three RRC wins in a row, all on their home pitch.
The Jayette junior varsity was also in action, suffering a 4-0 loss. Lexie Welch had the lone shot on goal for Perry, which received 14 saves from goalie Odaly Perla.
Perry will visit Boone Thursday and Winterset Friday for the next two contests.
