  • An officer located an open door at 701 W. Wall St.
  • Ryan Brown said a dog was running freely in the 1000 block of N.Walnut Street. The officer contacted the animal’s owner to retrieve it. The animal’s owner was given a time period to have the animal licensed with the city. The officer issued a verbal warning for the animal running at large.
  • Ashley Kellogg said her dog got off its chain and was loose in the 500 block of N. Locust Street. The officer located the animal in the area but could not catch it. Kellogg was issued a verbal warning by the officer.
  • The Greene County Middle School reported an unknown male putting up posters in the school at 203 W. Harrison St. The school reported the male was placing posters around the school advertising an upcoming circus. The officers were advised the superintendent had the male in his office and was handling the issue. No further action was needed from law enforcement.
  • Brittany Smith requested officers at 304 N. Chestnut St. for an unwanted male in her residence who was refusing to leave. The male left before the officer’s arrival.
  • A local business called and said that a male was in the station putting up posters for an upcoming circus. It was the same male who was at the Greene County Middle School.
  • A welfare check was requested by the Greene County Attorney on a male in the 100 block of W. Madison Street.
  • An officer investigated a burglary to a residence at 405 W. State St. Jewelry and other items were removed from the residence. The officer gathered evidence from the scene, and the case is under investigation.
  • Michael Godwin said a male with a beard was looking into his windows at 303 S. Grimmell Road. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
