Joe Fuson, 65, of Granger passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023. His family will host a Celebration of Life on Thursday, Nov. 2 from 5-7 p.m. at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Granger.
Joseph Roy Fuson was born July 5, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Donald Dean and Mary Jane (Berglund) Fuson.
He graduated from Woodward-Granger High School with the class of 1976.
Joe worked at Tones Spices in Ankeny and the Woodward Academy in Woodward until retiring in 2021.
He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Granger and the Masons.
Joe enjoyed anything sports related, including watching the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals, Iowa Hawkeyes, his grandchildren’s events and collecting trading cards.
He spent a lot of time with his dog, Woodson, whom he loved dearly, cooking and spending time with his family.
In death he rejoins his parents, Don and Jane Fuson; and a brother, Ken Fuson.
Left to cherish Joe’s memory are his children, Shannon (Jason) Sutton, Shane Fuson and Bradley Fuson; step-daughter, Heather (Ryan) Hoyme, and her children, Brayden and Liam; grandchildren, MacKenzie Morris and Hendrix Fuson; nephews, Max and Jesse Fuson and Jared Reese.
