Sign-up for the Junior Jays Wrestling Club will be held today, from 4-7 p.m. at the Perry Public Library. Youth may also register at practices, which begin Nov. 4.

The date is set, and all that remains are four-person teams looking for a fun golf outing.

The Perry Junior Jays Wrestlers are sponsoring the inaugural Perry Wrestling Open at the Perry Golf and Country Club August 4 at 11 a.m. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and August 10 has been declared as a rain date.

The format is a four-person best-shot scramble. Teams can be of any ages and coed, as only one division will be held. Prizes will awarded to the top three teams in the nine-hole event, with a silent auction being held as well as longest putt and longest drive competitions.

Entry fees are $120 per four-person team, with one cart $30 and two $60.

Perry varsity wrestling coach Mark Weber thanked the many local businesses that have already “come on board as important sponsors” adding that additional sponsorship spots are available.

“A lot of people have already put a lot of work into this and I appreciate all they have done,” Weber added. “We look forward to everyone having a great time.”

Entry forms are available online. They can also be found at the PG&CC Clubhouse.

Checks are to made payable to Junior Jay Wrestling and sent to P.O. Box 393, Perry. Entries are due before July 26.
