Karla Jean Bice, 66, of Perry, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at the Eden Acres campus of the Perry Lutheran Homes in Perry, Iowa.
Visitation will be held at Eden Acres on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 1-2 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. The family will have a private graveside after.
Karla Jean Bice was born in 1957 to Helen Jean (Hansen) Bice and Lawrence R. Bice at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa.
She was raised on a farm and enjoyed animals and living the farm life.
Karla was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a young age and was unable to attend public schools. She lived in several group homes with other special-needs people since the age of 18 years and has resided at the Eden Acres campus of the Perry Lutheran Homes for about the last three years.
Karla had a strong faith and attended church at every opportunity. She loved to play cards and listen to music, watch videos and complete jigsaw puzzles.
Karla was preceded in death by both parents.
She is survived by two sisters, Karen (Lynn) Sackett of rural Ogden and Karol (Gary) Godwin of Romona, California; and five nephews and nieces, Connor (Emily) Sackett, Hannah Sackett, Lucas Godwin, Lindsey Godwin and Logan Godwin.
Donations may be made to the Eden Acres campus of the Perry Lutheran Homes.
