The Perry Area Democrats will host a meet-and-greet event Tuesday, Sept. 3 for Lanon Baccam, Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from the third Congressional district, which includes Perry.
Baccam, a native of Mount Pleasant, lives in Des Moines. He is running against Rep. Zach Nunn, a first-term Republican from Bondurant.
Joining Baccam will be other local Democratic candidates, including Joe Shelly of Perry, a candidate for the Iowa House of Representatives, Margaret Liston of Ogden, a candidate for the Iowa Senate, and Meggan Guns of West Des Moines, a candidate for Dallas County Attorney.
The meet and greet begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Hotel Pattee. Light refreshments will be served, and a cash bar will be available. The event is free and open to the public.
