The Lazy Goose Boba Tea and Ice Cream store at 1014 Second St. in downtown Perry will cease operations Sept. 14 after 2.5 years in business, the store recently announced.
The ice cream shop, owned by Ivette Drahos and Marky Drahos of Perry, specialized in boba teas, smoothies, milkshakes and similar sweet treats. It opened in April 2022, succeeding the short-lived Maddie Cakes Bakery.
About 100 years ago, the location began operating as Fouch’s Cafe, feeding local diners until 1949. It was the Perry Cafe from 1951 to 1978. The location served as a factory outlet for a few years and then housed the offices of PEGASUS, the local-access cable TV channel, from 1996 until 2018.
