Kelly Maurice Thompson, 59, of Linden was arrested Wednesday on charges of second-degree harassment, person ineligible to carry dangerous weapon, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, three counts of unlawful possession of a prescription drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Linden man with a cache of narcotics was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly threatening to assault a Linden woman.

Kelly Maurice Thompson, 59, of 110 S. Hamilton St., Linden, was arrested on charges of second-degree harassment, person ineligible to carry dangerous weapon, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, three counts of unlawful possession of a prescription drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident began May 3 about 8:45 p.m. in the 100 block of Hamilton Street in Linden, where officers of the Panora Police Department and Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance by a man with “a firearm and a large metal pipe,” according to court records.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that Thompson “had threatened her with violence,” but she “did not want to press charges,” according to court records.

When similar threats were allegedly made by Thompson against the same victim were reported June 26 about 8 p.m., deputies again responded, and the victim told the deputies that “she would like to press the harassment charge for the threats on the evening of May 3,” according to court records.

The victim told the deputies that Thomson allegedly said that “he was going to beat her beyond recognition,” according to court records.

Thompson was found June 26 to be in possession of “methamphetamine, a methamphetamine bong” and “acetaminophen and hydrochloride bitartrate, hydrophone hydrochloride and oxycodone hydrochloride,” according to court records, for none of which he had a prescription.

Thompson was also found to be in possession of a Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun.

Thompson is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 5 in Dallas County District Court.
