PANORA — Des Moines Christian did all the damage they would need to do in the first half, opening a 55-24 gulf at the intermission and waltzing to a 76-38 win over Panorama in boys West Central Conference action Tuesday.

DMC (9-1, 8-1) seized control from the opening moments, racing to a 23-8 lead after just eight minutes of play. The offensive onslaught from the Lions continued in the second frame, as a 32-16 doubling of the Panthers generated the 55-24 halftime gap.

The teams played a much closer second half, but by then the outcome had long since been decided. Panorama (4-6, 4-5) saw their deficit increase to 34 points, at 65-31, after three frames, with an 11-7 edge for DMC in the last eight minutes creating the final score.

Isaac Prewitt hit four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 19 points for DMC, with Ben Juhl adding 17 points and Grant Veurink 16.

Mitchell Wagler’s 11 points led Panorama, with Will Babcock scoring eight points. Six points apiece from Grace Welberg, Jeramy Randol and Bryce Halterman, and a free throw from Trey Cobb, closed the scoring tab for the hosts.

Panorama visits West Central Valley Friday before travelling to Earlham Tuesday and Guthrie Center Jan. 20.
