Winners from the Dec. 10 Elks Hoop Shoot in Perry will toe the foul line at St. Mary’s High School in Storm Lake Saturday for the District competition.The Perry champions will be shooting against winners from the Ames, Estherville, Jefferson and Sioux City districts for a chance to compete at the state meet in Grinnell Feb. 4.
Girls winners from Perry included Karagyn Whelchel (8-9 years old) and Lydia Olejniczak (12-13). There were no girls competing in the 10-11 age group. Owen Meyers won the boys 8-9 division, with Geren Kenney (10-11) and David Roberts (12-13) the other local champions.
