The Waukee-Area Historical Society and the Waukee Public Library will co-host nine programs in their 2018 local history series. The programs are sponsored by Heartland Co-op and will be held at the Waukee Public Library at 950 Warrior Lane in Waukee.

- Sunday, Mar. 25, 1 p.m., “Iowa’s Misbehaving Women,” Presented by Cheryl Mullenbach
- Sunday, April 8, 1 p.m., “All American Girls Professional Baseball League,” presented by Richard Chapman, President AAGPBL
- Sunday, May 6, 1 p.m., “Interuban Railroad-Perry to Des Moines,” presented by Rod Stanley
- Sunday, Aug. 5, 1 p.m., “Nile Kinnick, Hal Manders and Bob Feller of Dallas County,” presented by Rod Stanley
- Sunday, Sept. 9, 1 p.m., “Jack Trice-ISU Football,” presented by Iowa State Archivist Bradley Kuennen
- Sunday, Oct. 7, 1 p.m., “Shuler Coal Mine, presented by Bruno Andreini as part of the Waukee Area Historical Society’s Heritage Day from 1-4 p.m.
- Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, 1 p.m., “Iowa Connection to World War,” presented by Fort Des Moines Education
