Officers of the Perry Police Department responded about 10 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a horse running at large in the 2200 block of First Avenue.
The officers soon located the chestnut steed in the 2600 block of First Avenue and coaxed him southward. After stopping to crop the tender grasses in several front yards, the charged was eventually detained by police in the 1800 block of First Avenue.
He was transported to the Shamrock Stables, where he enjoyed bed and breakfast service until his owner was located Wednesday morning.
