Are you or a loved one showing signs of the onset of dementia? Do you want to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease, which today affects an estimated 5.5 million Americans of all ages?

If you do, then make yourself present when Deb Koelln, chief care officer and certified dementia practitioner/master trainer at the Perry Lutheran Home, delivers a talk entitled, “Identify and Understand the Warning Signs and Stages of Dementia,” Friday, Dec. 1 at noon in the Dallas County Hospital Community Room.

Koelln will also offer free memory screenings to attendees.

One out of every three seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. As more and more people in the U.S. attain extreme old age, the number of new cases of Alzheimer’s and other dementias is projected to soar.

The free lecture is part of the dallas County Hospital Foundation Lunch and Learn series. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Matt Crooks at 515.465.7563 or  mcrooks@dallascohospital.org.
