November 21, 2016

  • An officer assisted with an emergency medical call at the Cedars.
  • An officer spoke to someone about drug information in the city of Madrid.
  • An officer was notified of a found dog by a resident. The officer made contact with the proper owner, who picked up the dog.

November 22, 2016

  • An officer fingerprinted a Madrid resident for a job-related background check.
  • An officer took a report from the Dallas County Sheriff’s office about a vehicle involved of a hit-and-run accident that might be travelling to Madrid. The officer was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
  • An officer was notified of a possible erratic driver traveling north on Iowa Highway 17 near 300th Street. The officer made contact with the driver and determined the driver was lost. The officer assisted the driver.
  • An officer was called to Casey’s regarding a female who was in the bathroom and was heard screaming by store staff. The officer spoke to the female in the bathroom and her friend. It was determined they were having an argument. The officer made arrangements for the screaming female to be picked up by another friend.
  • An officer stopped several juveniles walking around town after curfew. The officer advised the youths about the curfew times, and they agreed to returned home for the night.

November 23, 2016

  • An officer returned a call to a Madrid resident in order to answer questions about the process of civil eviction.
  • An officer assisted with a funeral procession through town.
  • An officer took a burglary report in the 200 block of S. State Street.
  • An officer was notified of a possible intoxicated driver travelling north on Iowa Highway 17 from the Iowa Highway 141 area. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle in Madrid.

November 25, 2016

  • An officer attempted to locate a wanted person in the 100 block of Maple Ridge Drive. The officer was unable to locate the wanted person.
  • An officer received a call from a citizen who said he picked up a stray cat and was transporting it to the Boone County Humane Society.
  • An officer responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of E. Eighth and S. Green streets. No injuries were reported.

November 26, 2016

  • An officer arrested a Jeremy Johnson of Madrid for OWI after a report of an accident that involved Johnson’s vehicle striking a parked car in the 200 block of W. Second Street.
  • An officer followed up with two people regarding an accident from the previous night.
  • An officer spoke with a woman regarding her 14-year-old daughter’s attempting suicide and assaulting her.
  • An officer performed a vehicle unlock.

November 27, 2016

  • An officer responded to a two-vehicle collision in the area of Sixth Street and Iowa Highway 17.
  • An officer unlocked a vehicle for someone in Madrid.
  • An officer received a call from the parent of a juvenile from Waukee. The parent said her juvenile daughter left her residence two days prior in order to visit a friend in the 200 block of S. Water Street and had not been heard from. The juvenile was located at the residence. She admitted to attending a party in Ames and to drinking and using drugs over the weekend with the adult male from the residence. She admitted she did not return home afterward. The officer determined the juvenile was sober and released her to return to her parents. The residents of the house in question were advised of the second complaint from concerned parents regarding this type of activity taking place with juveniles staying at their residence.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
