A man in a West Des Moines nightclub was arrested Sunday after allegedly assaulting two of his fellow pleasure seekers.

Sergio Jose Salcedo Cajica, 30, of unknown residence was charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, assault-intend to cause pain/injury, first-degree harassment and public intoxication.

The incident began about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at a night club in the 6200 block of Raccoon River Drive in West Des Moines, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of an unwanted person with a weapon.

The officers made contact with the victims, a man from Runnells and a man from Kellogg, who told the officers that Salcedo Cajica allegedly “made a threat, ‘I come back and kill you like I do in Colombia,’ while making a machine-gun-firing motion,” according to court records.

The victims told the officers that Salcedo Cajica then allegedly “kicked one in the knee and one in the torso, causing bruising,” according to court records.

The officers made contact with Salcedo Cajica in the 2800 block of Grand Avenue, and he presented with “bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person,” according to court records.

Salcedo Cajica was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Apr. 23 in Dallas County District Court.
