DECORAH — Luther College senior forward and former Perry all-state standout Claire Marburger has been named the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Marburger poured in 32 points while hauling down 15 rebounds in a 90-72 Norse win at Nebraska Wesleyan. She set IIAC and Luther records for most free throws and most consecutive free throws in a game by sinking all 20 of her attempts at the foul line.
Contributing to her honor was a 22-point, five-rebound and two assist effort in a 78-73 loss to Simpson.
The Norse ended the week 4-1 in IIAC standings.
