
DECORAH — Luther College standout and former Perry All-State cager Claire Marburger was recently chosen for the All-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team for the second consecutive year.
The Norse junior began her post-prep playing days at Central College, where she was an All-IIAC Second Team choice as a freshman before earning top unit honors as a sophomore.
Marburger scored 487 points (16.8 per game) and cleared 199 rebounds (6.9 per game) in helping lead Luther to a 19-10 overall record. The Norse were 12-4 in conference play and fell, 86-74, to second-ranked Wartburg in the IIAC tourney finals.
The former Jayette star distributed 39 assists, made 37 steals and blocked 31 shots. She connected on 182-of-388 (47 percent) from the floor, including 13-of-42 (31 percent) 3-pointers while draining 110-of-148 (74 percent) at the foul line.
