A Marion woman was arrested early Sunday after allegedly assaulting a West Des Moines man and endangering two children in a West Des Moines residence.
Darnisha Marie Ryan, 24, of 890 Bentley Dr., Marion, Iowa, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and two counts of child endangerment.
The incident began about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 6200 block of E. P. True Parkway, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a suicidal person.
An investigation revealed that Ryan allegedly assaulted a male victim, “resulting in minor injuries on his person,” and permitted two minor victims to be “in close proximity” to marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to court records.
Ryan is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $3,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 25 in Dallas County District Court.
