A Michigan man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly assaulted a Waukee woman in the home.
Craig Alan Deming, 26, of 43400 Elizabeth Road, Clinton Township, Michigan, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
Officers of the Waukee Police Department made contact with the victim at a residence in the 1400 block of S.E. Bishop Drive in Waukee.
The victim told the officers that Deming allegedly “restrained her by grabbing her arms” during the course of a domestic dispute and then “held her down on the couch,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim that her “left eye was very red and irritated,” and there was “bruising resembling finger marks and red scratches on both arms, as well as bruising and scratches on her left chest area” and “a raised, rounded bruise on her forehead,” according to court records.
Deming is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 25 in Dallas County District Court.
