Concrete repairs — including partial-depth and full-depth patching — continue this week on First Avenue (Iowa Highway 144) north of Willis Avenue, where motorists are urged to use caution as traffic-control devices and lane configurations are changed with the progress of the work.
The minor disruptions of traffic caused by Des Moines Asphalt and Paving work crews are limited primarily to daylight hourse, according to the Perry City Hall.
Work is also progressing in the area of Southgate Drive and Eighth Street south of Iowa Highway 141.
The repaving and reconfiguration of First Avenue is fully funded by the Iowa Department of Transportation and costs Perry residents nothing in city taxes. The 60-block overlay project on Perry’s side streets, also to be done by Des Moines Asphalt, will be paid for with Local Option Sales Tax and Road Use Tax funds.
