A new style of holiday decoration will cheer visitors to downtown Perry this year. The new ornaments, featuring a lighted wreath set off with a red bow, will be placed atop the the new carriage lights that line the streets in the Downtown Business and Cultural District.
City Administrator Sven Peterson unveiled the new holiday decoration at Monday night’s Perry City Council meeting.
“Once we get these in, we’ll put one or two up somewhere and do a show and tell,” Peterson said. He said the plan is to put up the decorations sometime between the Art on the Prairie event and the Lighted Christmas Parade, that is, between Nov. 15 and Nov. 27.
The council murmured its general approval of the festive wreath motif.
