A new mental health facility, operated by Inside Out Wellness and Advocacy (IOWA), will host a ribbon cutting Friday afternoon to celebrate its opening in Perry.

The IOWA Children’s Crisis Stabilization Center and Outpatient Mental Health Clinic is located at 410 12th St., just east of the Spring Valley campus of the Perry Lutheran Homes. The ribbon cutting will take place at 2:45 p.m. Friday, July 12, with an open house following from 3-6 p.m.

“All community members, mental health and healthcare providers are encouraged to attend the ribbon cutting and meet the staff of Inside Out Wellness and Advocacy,” said Josh Fisher, spokesperson for IOWA. “Those attending may enjoy games and refreshments and an exclusive look at the newly renovated facility. Visitors can ask questions and obtain more information about the services offered at the Perry facility.”

Established in 2023 after acquiring the facility in Woodward formerly known as the Safe Harbor Crisis Center, Inside Out Wellness and Advocacy (IOWA) aims to support community members on their journey to better mental health and well-being. In addition to the new outpatient mental health clinic and children’s crisis stabilization center in Perry, other IOWA services include adult crisis stabilization, emergency crisis line, mobile crisis response, crisis intervention co-responder teams and transitional living for adults.

IOWA coordinates with community partners, individual donors, Heart of Iowa and other state Mental Health and Disability Service regions and local law enforcement agencies.
