A special election for the City of Bouton will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, to vote on change to the city’s term reorganization.
Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered – such as voters registering to vote on election day – and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence.
Voters who are unable to provide an approved form of identification or to prove residence, if required, may 1) have the voter’s identity/residence attested by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity/residence using Election Day Registrant documents or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s office by noon on Sept. 16.

Public testing of the voting equipment will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024. This test will be conducted at the Dallas County Auditor’s office located at 210 N. 10th St. in Adel, Iowa. Testing will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until completed.

Bouton – Bouton Community Building, 110 E. First Street.
“To change the City of Bouton’s mayor and council terms from two years to four years and to stagger the terms of the seats so that three council seats are on one election cycle and the mayoral and two remaining council seats are on a separate election cycle”
