OGDEN — Accuracy from under the basket as well as from 20 feet away combined to carry Ogden past Perry, 64-46, in non-conference girls hoops Thursday.
Perry (1-11) played a strong first quarter and led, 17-14, before Ogden (6-3) suddenly found the range in the second period, draining four of their nine 3-pointers in the frame to surge to a 31-22 halftime lead.
Abby Langel splashed four treys and Faith Mohr one to account for 15 of the 17 Bulldog points in the quarter.
While the hosts were burying long bombs the Jayettes went ice cold, three times tossing air balls from less than a dozen feet from the basket.
Despite the sluggish offense the visitors were still well within range, but the Bulldogs had other ideas, as they began hammering the ball inside to outscore the Jayettes, 20-10, and take a 51-32 lead into the four quarter.
Langel landed seven triples to score a game-high 25 points, with Gabby Ross adding 14 points and Meredith Adreon 10. Mohr had five points and Denali Loecker four, with two points apiece from Abbi Lentz and Joelle Consier and free throws from Allea Klauenberg and Margo Christensen completing the scoring list for the hosts.
Molly Lutmer had 18 points for Perry, with Jayna Kenney adding seven points and Quinn Whiton six. Hannah Peterson provided five points and Gabby West and Michelle Tobar four each, with Kennedy Tunink sinking two free throws.
Lutmer had four 3-pointers, with Kenney, Peterson and Tobar each landing one trey.
Perry will visit Ballard Jan. 4 when the season resumes after the holiday break.
