EARLHAM — The most successful season in the history of Panorama volleyball ended Monday with a five-set loss to host Earlham in a Class 2A Region 3 Quarterfinal.

The Cardinals (18-10) won the first game, 25-19, but the Panthers (17-12) posted a 25-22 win to even the match. The back-and-forth continued, with Earlham winning the third set, 25-20, before Panorama claimed a 25-18 fourth set win. The hosts eventually prevailed, 15-9, in the deciding fifth game to win the match and advance to a Monday semifinal against host and eight-ranked Treynor (31-7).

Panorama was 7-25 last season before completely changing directions and winning 10 additional matches in 2018 under first-year head coach Jessica Nail. A first-ever playoff win added to the victory total.

Individual statistics from Monday’s match were not available. The loss ends the prep careers for eight seniors.
