PANORA — A change of pace for the Panorama girls golf team was on tap Thursday as the Panthers hosted Bondurant-Farrar for a nine-hole duel on the Par 3 course.

“For a little bit of fun, we decided to play at our West golf course,” Panorama head coach Melissa Hochstetler said. “It is typically a par 3 course, but we played all of the par 4’s. The par 4’s were challenging for the girls, especially since we are not used to playing them. They all know what they are capable of on the par 3, so having a higher score did not make them too happy.”

Panorama finished with a combined team score of 221, with B-F carding a 228.

Abby Cobb’s 49 was the low round for the hosts, with Alex Kurtz shooting a 50, Jaycie Maschino a 59 and Taylor Raibikis a 63. Rounds of 66 from Amanda Holwegner and of 74 from Gabby Welberg were not used for the team total.

Hailey Meachan (78), Sarah Kastner (84) and Gracie Phillips (100) played for the Panther junior varsity.

Brenna Hamborg led the Lady Jays with a 49. Elise Tharp (56), Olivia Wendt (61) and Maddie Dicks (62) also scored for B-F, with Jenna Fuchs (62) also in action for the guests.

“We enjoyed our time with Bondurant-Farrar,” Hochstetler said. “They are a pretty great team to play against. Their girls are always so nice and our girls really like them.

“This next week we will be preparing for Regionals that we are hosting at LPN,” she added. “We do not have any meets scheduled next week except for May 11 at IKM-Manning.”
