GRANGER — The Panorama boys golfers joined four other teams, along with host Des Moines Christian, for nine holes on the links Thursday.
PCM claimed the overall win with a combined score of 310, with DMC a close second at 316. Panorama edged Greene County, 351-352, for third place, with Earlham (378) and Coon Rapids-Bayard (381) also in action.
Kolby Shackelford was the runner-up medalist after leading Panorama with a 41-31–72. The next lowest Panther was a full 18 strokes higher, a disparity that did not escape the notice of head coach David Van Ahn.
“We have a great deal of work to do on developing consistency in our approach toward each shot,” he said. “If we can, we will cut six to eight shots off the score cards of the higher scores.”
Jacob Iseminger shot a 90 and Trey Cobb a 94 for the Panthers, with the team using one of two cards of 95, with Ryan Klinge and Dylan Douglass shooting the same score. Wyatt Appleseth’s round of 96 was not used for the team total.
Panorama is scheduled to join Earlham and Norh Polk for a coed quadrangular at 5×80 in Menlo today (Tuesday), with both Panther squads to visit W-G Thursday.
