Panther netters drop pair in Saturday tourney

COON RAPIDS — The Panorama volleyball team played in the Coon Rapids-Bayard Tournament Saturday, with the Panthers dropping both of their matches.

Panorama started play against Ankeny Christian Academy and suffered a 21-18, 21-13 loss. That set up a match with CAM, who posted a 21-11 win in the first set. The Panthers responded to claim a 21-17 victory in the third set, but CAM rallied to claim a 15-13 win in the third set to claim the match.

Nicole Rolfes finished with a combined five kills and five digs while serving 10-of-11 with four aces while Kennedy Kuta had three digs, an assist and three aces on 13-of-14 serving. Olivia Richey was 9-10-4 with three digs, with Brooke Halterman 5-7-1 with two kills and one dig while Hope Wilderman had two kills and two digs.

Faith Powell tallied 14 digs and was 2-of-3 serving, with Adrienne Powell 8-8-1 with six assists and two digs. Carson Fisher and Morgan Johnk provided two kills apiece for the Panthers, who will be off until a Sept. 20 visit to West Central Valley.
