Panther netters drop pair of conference matches

GUTHRIE CENTER — A Thursday loss at AC/GC followed a Tuesday setback to Van Meter as Panorama fell to 6-9 overall and 4-4 in WCAC volleyball.

AC/GC (13-3, 5-1) won, 3-0, on scores of 25-22, 25-18, and 25-20.

Jaidyn Sellers and Shey Storesund had five kills apiece for Panorama, with Jordan Douglass, Grace Richey, and Angel Poldberg had three apiece, with Audrey Cemelik adding two. Richey had 10 assists and Emma Powell eight.

Storesund had 13 digs, Douglass six, Powell four, Brix Gymer three, and Richey and Paige Cmelik two apiece. Sellers had 2.5 blocks, Poldberg one, and Audrey Cmelik, Douglass and Richey a half-block each.

The team was 55-of-61 (90.2 percent) serving with three aces.

Douglass was 13-14-1 and Powell 10-10-2, with Paige Cmelik 15-of-16. Richey was 7-of-8, Storesund 6-of-8, and Audrey Cmelik 4-of-5.

Tuesday’s loss to Van Meter (12-3, 4-2) came on scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 25-14. Panorama served well, hitting 36-of-38 (94.7 percent) with five aces.

Powell was 11-12-2 behind the line, Richer 7-7-2 and Audrey Cmelik 4-4-1. Douglass finished 7-of-8, Paige Cmelik 3-of-3, and both Storesund and Cassidy Hoehne 2-of-2.

Storesund had five kills and Douglass three, with Sellers and Audrey Cmelik two each and Richey and Hoehne one apiece. Richey provided eight assists and Powell five.

A team-high seven digs was tallied by Storesund, with Paige Cmelik recording three. Gymer, Douglass, and Richey had two digs apiece, with Sellers, Hoehne, Powell and Audrey Cmelik having one dig each.

Panorama hosts Woodward-Granger Tuesday and Des Moines Christian Thursday.
