Twenty-eight Perry-area donors took part in the bi-monthly LifeServe Blood Center community blood drive Friday at the Dallas County Hospital.
Through the efforts of the Dallas County Hospital, 28 registered donors donated 27 life-saving units of blood, with the ability to impact up to 81 local lives.
“The community blood drive continues to grow with support from loyal donors and the hospital,” said Ashtin Hazel, territory representative for the Des Moines-based LifeServe Blood Center.
The blood center also celebrated a milestone donor as Harvey Blaisdell reached a total of 16 gallons.
“A special thanks to Dallas County Hospital for helping to sponsor and host the blood drive,” Hazel said.
