The Perry Economic Development Inc. (PEDI) presented a donation of $1,000 Friday to the Perry Area Food Pantry.
The PEDI board of directors voted unanimously May 14 in support of donating to the food pantry in response to the growing demands of local families due to impacts of COVID 19.
“During this time, PED understands there are many families facing uncertainty,” said Tom Burkgren, president of the PEDI board. “We are hopeful our donation will aid the Perry Area Food Pantry with their efforts as an essential service to our community.”
Perry Area Food Pantry Site Coordinator Lou Hoger gratefully accepted the PEDI donation.
“The local needs we’re seeing today are unprecedented,” Hoger said. ”
