Perry eighth graders assemble 20,000 meals in annual drive

About 100 eighth graders from the Perry Middle School assembled 20,000 meals Thursday in a Meals from the Heartland event in the PMS gym.

 

With sponsorship by the Raccoon Valley Bank in Perry, about 100 eighth graders from the Perry Middle School assembled 20,000 meals Thursday in a Meals from the Heartland event in the PMS gym.

Ben Croghan, event manager for Meals from the Heartland, coordinated the process with help from Perry Middle School staff members. The diligent students assembled 20,000 meals in about 90 minutes.

Employees from the Raccoon Valley Bank were also on hand to help pour and package in the assembly-line process, which provides meals for people in need around the world.
