BONDURANT — A 21-16, 21-17 victory over Burlington Notre Dame was the lone triumph in six matches for the Perry volleyball team at Saturday’s Skip Anderson Classic.
Perry dropped a 21-13, 21-15 opening match against Williamsburg, with Knoxville sweeping to a 21-10 and 21-8 victory. Dubuque Hempstead’s 21-11, 21-9 win kept the Jayettes winless in opening pool play.
Davis County topped Perry, 21-12 and 21-18 when realigned pool play began, with Woodward-Granger storming to a 21-5, 21-6 win. Perry avoided a winless tourney with their victory against the Nikes.
Isabel Saemisch led Perry with 12 combined kills, with Sidney Vancil adding 10 kills, Adriana Eastman seven, Gabby West six, and Kacy Nevitt three with others having single kills.
Vancil distributed 25 assists, Syd Guerra seven and Mackenzie five. Guerra came up with 28 digs, with Magley Orellana and Vancil adding nine digs apiece, Eastman seven and West and Quinn Whiton five each.
Vancil was 27-of-30 serving with three aces, with Ayers 11-11-2, West 7-8-3 and Jaqueline Guardado 7-8 also leading the team.
