A steady south wind was blowing at 49 325th St. at Apple Road on the Angus curve Tuesday afternoon, when a controlled burn got out of hand, and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department was summoned to the scene to restore public safety.
No injuries were reported in the yard fire.
The 2.4-acre parcel is owned by Paul and Arlene Hendrixson, according to Boone County records.
