The Perry Food Pantry received a $7,000 donation Wednesday from an Adel investment club.

Barry Boorn of Adel, representing Purpose Bound, an Adel investment group of about 30 people that meets quarterly, presented the donation check to Perry Food Pantry Site Director Lou Hoger.

“We wanted to show our appreciation of the good work done by the Perry Food Pantry,” said Boorn, who operates the Meriwether Wilson and Co. accountancy firm in Perry. He invited Hoger to attend the next Purpose Bound meeting in order to report on the use of the funds.

Hoger said the donation will help the pantry with the increasing demand for its services that it has seen this year.
